BuyVM slice pricing reviewed: flat monthly rates and block storage from $5 a terabyte

BuyVM has kept its KVM slice prices flat since 2010: 1 GB at $3.50 a month, 2 GB at $7, 4 GB at $15, with the same figure at renewal and block storage at $1.25 per 256 GB. We checked the live pages.

Budget hosts are fond of the first-year teaser: pay $2 a month for twelve months, then double at renewal. BuyVM, the retail brand of Frantech Solutions, does not play that game. Its Dedicated KVM Slice line-up has held the same monthly prices for years, and the renewal is the same figure as month one. We pulled the current prices from the live buyvm.net pages in October 2026 and matched them against our own BuyVM listing.

The slice ladder, verified live

Six KVM slice sizes, all on 3.5 GHz+ Intel hardware with pure SSD storage and unmetered bandwidth, served from Las Vegas, New York or Luxembourg:

  • SLICE 1024: $3.50/month — 1 GB RAM, 10 GB SSD, one dedicated core.
  • SLICE 2048: $7.00/month — 2 GB RAM, 30 GB SSD.
  • SLICE 4096: $15.00/month — 4 GB RAM, 60 GB SSD. BuyVM benchmarks this against big-cloud equivalents and claims roughly a 62.5% saving.
  • From 8 GB ($30/month) up to the 20 GB SLICE 24576 at $105/month, seven cores and 560 GB of SSD at the top end.

The odd one out is the 512 MB slice, sold at $24 per year — the only annual price on the ladder, and the closest BuyVM comes to a one-year deal. Every other slice is monthly-billed, flat, and renews at exactly the advertised price.

What the flat prices mean at renewal

On our deal table the buyvm.net slices score a verdict of flat: offer price equals renewal price on every monthly slice. That puts BuyVM in the same bracket as VPSDime's flat monthly line-up and InterServer's $3 slices, and in direct contrast to the teaser-plus-jump pattern in our cheapest annual VPS deals round-up. The trade-off is simple: no promo window, so year-one cost equals year-five cost. The 2 GB slice, for example, is $84 in any twelve months you care to name — there is no hidden second invoice.

Block storage slabs: the quiet headline

The less-advertised product is arguably the better deal. Block Storage Slabs attach to any slice in the same facility (detached and reattached without downtime) and are sold in 256 GB chunks at $1.25/month — 1 TB usable for $5.00/month and a 10 TB slab at $50.00/month, up to eight slabs per server and 10 TB each. Our own tracked line for Frantech NVMe storage lists 2 TB at $8.50/month (down from $17.00), roughly $5.10 per terabyte per month. Against the storage-VPS market in our annual round-up, that per-terabyte figure is hard to beat without an annual commitment.

Verdict

BuyVM suits buyers who want dedicated-core KVM at a predictable bill and never plan to churn: the prices are flat by design, and the block-storage ecosystem means a small slice can grow into a large one without a migration. If you are hunting the lowest headline price, the annual-teaser offers we track will often beat $7.00/month on year one — and then lose at renewal. If you want a price that will not move and storage you can bolt on by the 256 GB, the slices above are fully priced in our BuyVM business page.
