VPSDime review: a flat-priced VPS lineup from $5, priced by the gigabyte

VPSDime review: Linux VPS from $5/mo with RAM priced flat per GB, dedicated-core KVM plans, Windows on Hyper-V, and storage VPS at about $14 per TB.

VPSDime has run flat monthly pricing since before "teaser rate" was an industry sport. Every plan on its table costs the same next year as it does in month one, and the line divides neatly into four: classic Linux VPS, Premium KVM, Windows/Hyper-V and Storage VPS. Here is what the current lineup actually buys you, priced from our checked rows.

The Linux line: RAM by the gigabyte

The classic Linux VPS plans run from 4GB to a frankly absurd 288GB of RAM. The 4GB plan ($5/mo) is the entry point: 2 shared Intel Xeon Gold cores, 20GB NVMe, 1TB bandwidth on a 10 Gbps uplink. Prices scale linearly — $7/6GB, $14/12GB, $21/18GB, up to $336/288GB — which means the per-GB cost stays flat right up the ladder. That flatness is the point: no plan in the line quietly becomes worse value as you size up.

The trap to avoid: most of these plans are disk-light (20–40GB NVMe) because the RAM is the product. If you need both, look at the Premium KVM line below.

Premium KVM: dedicated cores, NVMe headroom

Premium plans start at 4GB/$20 with a DEDICATED Xeon Gold core and 60GB NVMe — double the disk of the classic line's entry plan. They scale to 64GB/$360, always with dedicated cores and larger NVMe allocations. This is the line for Docker hosts, VPN endpoints, custom kernels, or anything that needs true virtualisation rather than a container slice.

Windows on Hyper-V

Windows plans run from 6GB/$15 (2 shared cores, 50GB NVMe) to 128GB/$320 (16 cores, 1.6TB NVMe) on Hyper-V — Windows VPS disk allocations run far deeper than the Linux line's 20GB entry plan. The Windows Server licence is folded into the flat rate, so there is no separate OS bill. These plans suit RDP workstations, legacy .NET applications and MSSQL boxes. Same 10 Gbps uplink, same US/EU locations (Dallas and Los Angeles are the main hubs, Amsterdam for Europe).

Storage VPS: the cheap-per-TB play

Separately, the Storage line is where VPSDime gets unusual. Monthly plans run 500GB/$7 through 4TB/$56 — roughly $14 per TB — on HDD mirror arrays with modest CPU/RAM (they are file servers, not compute). Two smaller archive plans are billed yearly instead ($40 for 100GB and $60 for 250GB). For cold backups and media archives that per-TB rate sits well below most block-storage add-ons at bigger hosts.

What to check before you buy

  • Linux plans are disk-light — pair them with the Storage line if you need space.
  • Premium KVM is the only line with dedicated cores; everything else shares Xeon Gold.
  • The two yearly Storage plans (100GB/250GB) are the only non-monthly products in the lineup.
  • Locations are US (Dallas, Los Angeles) and EU (Amsterdam) — fine for most audiences, no Asia-Pacific presence.
