HostUS prices month to month: the VPS that never jumps on renewal
HostUS prices its KVM and managed VPS plans month to month with no intro discount and no renewal jump — $4.35 a month stays $4.35. The full plan ladder, checked October 2026.
Most of the deals on this site come with a catch written in small print: a low first term, then a renewal that doubles or quintuples. HostUS is a useful control case — a budget VPS host that prices month to month with no intro discount and no renewal jump. The price you start at is the price you keep paying.
Every figure below comes from OneYearDeal's live price database for HostUS KVM and managed VPS plans, checked October 2026. All prices are US dollars per month.
The entry point: $4.35 a month
HostUS's smallest KVM plan, KVM-0.5 (1 GB RAM, 1 vCPU), costs $4.35 a month and renews at $4.35 a month. The next step up, KVM-1 (1 GB RAM, 2 vCPUs), is $6.95 a month, flat. A year of the smallest plan is $52.20 — and a second year costs the same, because there is nothing to snap back to. For comparison, our database tracks shared-hosting teasers that start at $1.99 and renew at $9.99 a month: cheaper on day one, five times the price from term two.
| Plan | RAM | vCPUs | Price per month | Renewal |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| KVM-0.5 | 1 GB | 1 | $4.35 | $4.35 — no jump |
| KVM-1 | 1 GB | 2 | $6.95 | $6.95 — no jump |
| KVM-2 | 2 GB | 2 | $10.95 | $10.95 — no jump |
| KVM-4 | 4 GB | 4 | $22.95 | $22.95 — no jump |
| KVM-8 | 8 GB | 6 | $49.95 | $49.95 — no jump |
| KVM-32 | 32 GB | 16 | $120.00 | $120.00 — no jump |
The ladder continues in the same shape all the way up: KVM-3 at $15.95, KVM-6 at $34.95, KVM-12 at $69.95, KVM-16 at $89.95. The managed (MVZ) range starts at $49.95 for 1 GB and runs to $109.95 for 8 GB. There is also a standalone storage line, from 300 GB at $6.50 a month up to 2 TB at $35.00 — with a 200 GB quarterly plan at $12.50 per three months for anyone who wants to pay less often.
When flat pricing loses
Honesty is not always cheap. On a first-term basis, plenty of promotional VPS deals undercut HostUS: $9 for a year of a KVM teaser, or $1.99 a month shared hosting, are numbers HostUS never matches, because HostUS is not running a promotion. If you rebuild your servers every year and chase the cheapest first term, HostUS will look expensive. Where it wins is the second year: the $4.35 plan is still $4.35 in 2028, while most promo pricing has quietly stepped up by then.
The general rule on this site is to price the renewal, not the coupon, and a multi-year view is where flat billing stops being a footnote. Twelve months of KVM-0.5 at HostUS is $52.20, and the next twelve cost the same — no year costs more than any other. Five years of a $1.99-teaser-then-$9.99-renewal plan is $503.40; twelve months of HostUS's smallest KVM costs $52.20 in every one of those years.
