HostDare annual prices: what the China and Japan routing premium costs over the base plan

HostDare's China-optimised CN2 GIA plans cost 52-63% more than the matching base SSD plan per year, budget Japan about 40% more and premium Japan over double. The full price ladder, plan for plan.

HostDare sells one basic KVM VPS ladder and then sells the same sizes again with a routing premium attached: China-optimised CN2 GIA lines and Japan-optimised lines, where the network, not the hardware, is what you are paying extra for. The differences are easy to read because the plans line up size for size — here is what each step up actually costs per year.

The comparison ladder: annual price for the same-sized plan

The base is the ordinary SSD KVM ladder. The entry plan, SSD 0, is $25.99 a year for 10GB SSD, 512MB RAM, 1 vCPU and 500GB transfer. Directly above it in the China line sits CSSD 0, also 10GB of NVMe disk and 1 vCPU, at $40.99 a year — an extra $15.00, or 57.7%. That premium also buys 768MB of RAM instead of 512MB and the CN2 GIA route to mainland China.

The pattern holds across the ladder. SSD 1 (25GB, 1GB RAM) is $39.99 a year; the matching CSSD 1 (25GB NVMe, 1GB RAM) is $60.99, an extra $20.00 or 52.5%. At the 50GB tier, SSD 2 is $70.99 against CSSD 2 at $115.99 — an extra $45.00, 63.4%.

Two optimised lines, priced differently

HostDare splits its premium routing into two markets and prices them differently. The budget Japan line undercuts China: NKVM 0 is $35.99 a year — an extra $10.00, 38.5% over the $25.99 base — and adds a full 500GB of transfer. Its step-up NKVM 1 at $55.99 is an extra $16.00, 40.0% over the $39.99 base plan. The premium Japan line costs more again: JSSD 0 is $45.99 a year, an extra $20.00, 77.0% over the base, and the 20GB JSSD 1 at $95.99 more than doubles the $39.99 base plan, at +$56.00 or 140.0%.

One cheaper upgrade sits between the extremes: the AMD NVMe line keeps the standard routing and swaps the CPU. ASSD 0 is $27.99 a year — just $2.00, or 7.7%, over the $25.99 base — for the same 10GB disk and 500GB transfer with the 512MB RAM raised to 768MB.

What the menu pattern says

The rough rule from this table: the China-optimised premium runs about half again to two-thirds on top of the base price, budget Japan about 40%, premium Japan over double, and a plain AMD CPU swap almost nothing. Whatever you pick, the renewal is the same number as the first bill — every HostDare deal in the catalogue renews at its headline price, so the premium you chose is the premium you keep. For the full spread, see the 58 listed HostDare deals and the HostDare catalogue page; the flat-renewal comparison lives in the Netcup renewal analysis, and the cheapest annual VPS plans on the menu are in the annual VPS deals guide.
