HostSailor renews its dedicated line at up to 55% more — the VPS renewal is not published
HostSailor's HP dedicated servers publish renewal jumps of 11.7% to 55.2% over the first bill, while the NVMe VPS ladder leaves the renewal blank. Every figure from the HostSailor catalogue, first bill vs renewal.
HostSailor's VPS pages do not advertise a renewal price anywhere on the ladder — the renewal column reads "not published" across the whole range, which on this site means you should check the cart before committing. The dedicated-server line is the opposite: five of the HP models publish both the first bill and the renewal, and the gap between them runs from 11.7% to 55.2%. That is the only place in the catalogue where the second invoice is written down, and it is worth reading before you buy either line.
The published renewal jumps: up to 55% more from year two
The steepest published jump is the HP DL360 G9 in the Netherlands — Intel E5-2620v3 at 2.4GHz (8C/16T), 2TB HDD — which bills $96.00 a month and renews at $148.99, an increase of $52.99 a month, or 55.2%. The flagship HP DL380 G9 (2x E5-2620v3, 12C/24T, 2TB HDD) bills $141.99 and renews at $187.99, up $46.00, or 32.4%. The HP DL120 G9 (E5-2640v3, 6C/12T) goes $71.99 to $95.99 — up $24.00, or 33.3% — and the smaller HP DL20 G9 (E3-1240v5, 4C/8T) steps from $66.00 to $77.99, up 18.2%. The mildest published rise is the HP DL180 G9: $120.00 to $133.99, an 11.7% increase. Three of the five jumps exceed 30%, which on an annualised dedicated budget is the difference between a planned cost and a creeping one.
The VPS ladder: renewal not published, so budget on the sticker
The VPS side is structured differently. The NVMe ladder runs on 2x AMD EPYC 9534 hosts: Mini sailor at $4.99 (1 vCPU, 30GB NVMe), Sailor at $8.99 (2 vCPU, 50GB), Seaman at $15.99 (4 vCPU, 80GB), Lieutenant at $22.99 (6 vCPU, 120GB), Captain at $31.99 (8 vCPU, 150GB) and Commodore at $50.99 (16 vCPU, 200GB), each with 1GB-16GB of monthly bandwidth tiers from 1GB to 16GB. Since the renewal is not published, price these plans on the sticker with a margin in your head — the same company's dedicated line shows jumps of up to 55%, so the safe assumption is that the VPS renewal is at or above the first bill, and the cart is the only place that confirms it.
The annual storage deals: one bill a year, no cliff to track
The storage VPS line is the cheapest long-term entry. The Mini sailor Storage VPS is $23.40 per year for 1 vCPU and 80GB of HDD (about $1.95 a month), and the Sailor Storage VPS is $35.40 per year for 2 vCPU and 128GB HDD (about $2.95 a month) — both on Intel Xeon E5506 hardware with 256GB-512GB of monthly bandwidth. Annual billing at this level removes the month-two surprise entirely: there is one bill a year, and it is the one you accepted at signup. Monthly storage plans step up from the Seaman at $5.95 (256GB HDD) to the Captain at $21.95 (1TB HDD).
The rule this catalogue rewards: published renewals are a feature, not a flaw. HostSailor's dedicated line shows its second invoice in plain sight — compare that with the flat-renewal models in the RackNerd analysis and the 1.000-shock ladder in the Netcup renewal analysis before deciding which structure you want to live with. The full HostSailor range, including the Fujitsu and Supermicro dedicated lines, is on the catalogue page and the 7 listed deals.
