GreenCloud vs CloudCone: which cheap KVM deal wins in 2026?
GreenCloud undercuts CloudCone on RAM-per-dollar and locations, while CloudCone keeps the cheaper first year and renewal. Prices checked against live deals, updated 7 October 2026.
GreenCloud and CloudCone both sell low-cost KVM virtual servers aimed at the same buyer: someone who wants a small, fast NVMe box without paying Hetzner rates. Only one of them is the better deal on current pricing — and it is closer than the headline prices suggest. Both offers are listed in our VPS deals table.
Head to head
| Plan | RAM | NVMe | CPU | Bandwidth | Locations | First year | Renewal |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GreenCloud KVM Flash 2GB | 2 GB | 40 GB | 2 vCores | 4 TB | US, EU, Asia | $19.00/yr | $32.00/yr |
| CloudCone Micro Cloud 1GB | 1 GB | 25 GB | 1 core | 2 TB | US only | $14.40/yr | $21.60/yr |
*Prices checked 7 October 2026. GreenCloud’s plan is a flash deal — it needs the coupon code GREENFRIDAY at checkout, and flash prices do not last. CloudCone’s Micro Cloud runs US-only locations.
Where each one wins
GreenCloud’s plan simply has more server for the money: double the RAM, twice the CPU, well over half again the NVMe and double the bandwidth, available across US, EU and Asian locations. If you need any of the non-US locations, CloudCone is out of the running outright. The trade-off is the renewal: $32.00 against CloudCone’s $21.60, so after the first year the gap narrows to roughly $13 a year.
CloudCone’s counter-argument is entry cost and continuity. It is the cheapest way in, it renews cheaper, and CloudCone sells month-to-month hosting too, so you are not locked into an annual cycle while you work out whether the box earns its keep. GreenCloud’s flash pricing, by contrast, is an annual commitment at a discount that may not be repeated next year.
Verdict
Take the GreenCloud flash deal if 2 GB of RAM, EU or Asia locations or the extra bandwidth matter — it is the better server per dollar in the first year and still ahead once renewals kick in. Take the CloudCone Micro Cloud if you want the lowest possible first-year outlay, US-only is fine, and you would rather keep the flexibility.
